Open Council Position

As the result of the resignation of Borough Councilperson Alicia Gasparovic, Langhorne Manor Borough Council is currently accepting letters of interest and/or resumes from Borough Residents who wish to be considered for a temporary appointment to the Council.

The qualified applicant must be a resident of Langhorne Manor Borough, a registered voter and at least 18 years of age. The person chosen to fill the vacancy will serve until the next election in November 2025.

Langhorne Borough Council is responsible for governance of the Borough including but not limited to the following:

  • Ordinances and Resolutions: Proposing, debating, and voting on local laws (ordinances) and resolutions.
  • Budget Approval: Approving the annual borough budget and overseeing its implementation.
  • Zoning and Land Use: Enacting zoning ordinances and land use regulations.
  • Public Works: Overseeing the planning and maintenance of public works projects, such as roads, parks, and utilities.
  • Public Safety: Ensuring the safety and well-being of residents through public safety initiatives.
  • Constituent Services: Addressing the concerns and needs of borough residents.
  • Advocacy: Representing the borough’s interests at state and federal levels.
  • Board Appointments: Appointing members to various borough boards and commissions.
  • Policy Development: Developing and implementing policies that align with the borough’s goals.
  • Ethics Compliance: Ensuring compliance with ethical standards and conflict of interest.

Letters of Interest and/or resumes will be accepted no later than 4:30 pm on November 8, 2024 via email to Nick Pizzola, Council President, at pizzolan@gmail.com. Council will consider and appoint a candidate at the November 12, 2024 Borough Council meeting. Upon appointment, the candidate will immediately participate in that evening’s Council meeting.
